Position: Director, Laboratory Services

Reports To: President/CEO

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Your Impact

As the Director of Laboratory Services, you'll be at the helm of our quest to achieve excellence in quality control, research, and development. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that our materials meet and exceed specifications, as well as pioneering new products and applications.

Key Responsibilities

*Quality Pioneer:** Lead a team of QC Lab Technicians to meticulously test incoming materials for adherence to specifications, setting the gold standard for quality.

**Innovation Driver:** Unleash your creativity in researching and developing novel products and applications, guiding the work of our R&D Chemist to new heights.

**Collaboration Champion:** Collaborate closely with our Sales team to align products with customer requirements, crafting prototypes and preparing meticulous production documentation.

**Strategic Mind:** Collaborate with the Leadership Team to craft operational plans for the Lab, strategically forecasting resource needs and staffing.

**Leadership Maven:** Recruit, train and supervise at team of four (4) to create an unstoppable Lab team, all while fostering a culture of safety.

**Quality Advocate:** Uphold quality standards with unwavering commitment, ensuring ISO compliance and industry excellence.

**Resourceful Steward:** Keep the Lab well-equipped and running smoothly by managing a steady inventory of essential supplies.

Experience and Skills:

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field, coupled with over 10 years of progressive leadership in chemistry and materials within customer-focused chemical manufacturing settings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills which allow you to inspire, influence, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to drive projects from inception to execution.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work in varied work environments, from air-conditioned offices to non-air conditioned production areas; sit or stand for extended periods of time to interact with Lab personnel, conduct planning meetings, etc.; requires manual dexterity to operate essential office equipment, i.e. keyboarding for computer applications, copiers, telephones, etc
