Job Description:

Our client is an established full-service engineering consulting firm with offices in NJ, PA, DE, and more. As a result of continued growth, they are currently seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to join their executive team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President of HR is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The VP of HR provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders, and the board of directors.

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring in-office work in either the Cherry Hill, NJ or King of Prussia, PA office.

Strategy, Planning and Management

  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Provide HR Planning and support for M&A initiatives including due diligence and integration advisement and support to Strategic team and managing in-house or consulting staffing to support
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the company.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits globally.
  • Identify, deploy, and manage a high-performance team needed to accomplish business objectives. Provide a positive and engaging work environment by:
    • hiring outstanding talent
    • aligning individual and team objectives to department and company objectives
    • managing director & staff and supporting employee development and growth
    • providing regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience with a proven track record of accomplishments and progressive job responsibilities within human resources is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong generalist with successful experience both at the strategic and tactical level of human resources.
  • Strong technical skills with MS Office and HRIS (ADP preferred)
  • Ability to stay current with human relations, personnel policies, compensation and benefits and applicable state, federal and local laws is required.
  • The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to listen well and communicate personably with all levels of management and employees.
  • Possess strong skills in relationship building, influencing, negotiating, analysis, coaching, listening and presentation, as well as project management.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR credential.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to other office locations.
