Job Overview

We’re looking for a Product Manager to support our industry-leading pet health insurance and wellness portfolio. Working closely with teams from across the company, you’ll develop and launch products that will help our adoring pet parents have more healthy days with their beloved pets. These products are a critical component to the success of our organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product, you’ll play a key role as a product strategist, participating in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from ideation to implementation and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops new software product concepts, designs, and/or enhancements to existing products that reflect market and user requirements.
  • Conducts research and develops a good understanding of the customer's needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
  • Develops requirements documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts.
  • Develops business plans & release plans for products and participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products as well as the introduction of products to the market.
  • Works on cross-functional team to translate customer & business needs and technology directions into product definitions.
  • Collaborates and builds partnerships with business stakeholders to understand business problems, present potential solutions, and communicates clearly and often the status of solutions implementation from design through implementation, launch and measurement.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent competency in information technology, business management, marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability defining a product vision and roadmap
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with and gain buy-in from stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience understanding the needs of, and advocating on behalf of, existing and prospective users
  • Demonstrated ability collecting and using data to make strategic decisions
  • Demonstrated ability managing and measuring product success
  • Demonstrated ability translating user requirements and feedback into work items
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to understand underlying technologies, data and design of solutions
  • Experience in agile software development
  • This is a communication role. A strong communicator, able to clearly and concisely articulate product strategy, status and outcomes to all levels of the business is required.
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • B2C product experience, preferably in subscription-based, e-commerce, or customer-facing apps & products
  • Demonstrated ability developing work items for engineering, design or data teams
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices and concepts, such as product scalability
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies, such as A/B testing
  • Familiarity with insurance or insuretech products is a plus
  • Mobile app experience is a plus
