Job Description:

Pennsylvania Steel is a leading distributor of steel and aluminum. We are a privately and veteran owned business.

Pennsylvania Steel has been in business since 1972 and has expanded to 11 locations in 2017, becoming one of the largest Steel Service Centers in the eastern United States.

The Naugatuck, CT branch is looking for a Quality Generalist.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct / participate in monthly internal audits
  • Attend and transcribe minutes of ISO monthly meetings
  • Communicate with vendors on Quality issues
  • Weekly review of ISO logs to evaluate, monitor and track trends
  • Utilize problem solving tools on systemic issue and be able to determine corrective actions & countermeasures
  • Assist in the implementation and management of the ISO Internal Audit Schedule
  • Monthly review of RMA report
  • Receive and verify inventory into the system; enter quantity, PO, heat number(s)
  • Generate inventory labels
  • Scan and attach material certifications
  • Mill delivery scheduling
  • Interact with Suppliers as necessary

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Detail-oriented
  • Previous demonstrated experience in practical problem-solving
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communications skills required
  • Mathematical adept
  • Experience in ISO 9001 as a minimum
  • Ability to follow standard procedures in all aspects of work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience communicating and working with suppliers and vendors as it relates to Quality
  • Willingness to pitch in wherever required to ensure the business is successful
