Experience and Skills:
1 Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, completed
an accredited seminary program and have at least two
years experience, preferably in a health-care facility.
2 Must be sufficiently verbal to communicate effectively with
telephone callers, visitors, residents, and other staff members.
3 Must possess knowledge of community resources and needs;
ability to handle confidential information; possess judgment
capabilities; and conduct tours of the facility.
4 Must have the ability to work well with people including
staff, residents, families, and community; communicate the services
of the facility to the community: be personable and friendly and
work independently.
5 Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by
residents and staff, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and
follow oral and written directions; and be a good listener.
6 Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.
7 Must be ordained and in good standing with his/her
faith Community.
8 Must demonstrate inter-denominational flexibility.
9 Must possess experience working with older adults.
Staff Functions
Follows established safety rules and regulations at all times,
including fire safety procedures and disaster control; promptly
reports accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous equipment or
conditions. Knows and complies with basic facility infection control
policies and procedures, including blood-borne pathogen standard and
infectious waste disposal.
Physical Requirements
Service ability to be mobile (walking, standing, sitting, etc.)
Talking and hearing essential to communicate with patients,
families, and teammates. Must be able to read and speak English in
simple, understandable terms. Must be able to be mobile and free of
any physical limitation which would preclude fulfillment of
spiritual care duties. Ability to engage in a good working
relationship with all departments.
