Job Description:

The mission of the Inventory / Logistics Manager is to ensure inventory accuracy by coordinating inventory system to system information with distribution centers, establish protocols to support inventory integrity, and establish and maintain 3rd party key performance indicators. To ensure goods are shipped in the most efficient manner according to documented processes, including planning the transportation route and payload, selecting the mode of transportation, tendering the order for transportation, and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery all the while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service and contractual and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

Inventory and Logistics Management:

* Ensures inventory accuracy by coordinating the inventories and goods system to system information with distribution centers to near real time monitoring of EDI processes as well as other manual inventory and adjustment processes;

* Supervise, oversee, and plan every activity that relates to inventory control in the organization or warehouse environment

* Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored

* Initiates shrink threshold and loss claims with warehouse providers and tracking reconciliation of the same per contract standards,

* Initiate and track monthly cycle count process and document via monthly metrics

* Reviews Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory; establishes Reserve

* Establishes Monthly E&O review with Sales & Planning to develop disposition

* Ensures accuracy of physical inventory order sequence by entering inter-company purchase orders and inter-company transfers into the system following defined processes,

* Verifies accuracy of physical inventory when needed,

* Effectively resolve inventory or order discrepancies;

* Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory

* Monitor and manage budgets

* Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers

* Respond to and resolve complaints and problems

* Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them

Optimization Maintenance:

* Establish KPI metrics to improve customer service, transit time, and cost.

* Organizes and maintains hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution means, pricing, and contractual obligations,

Transportation:

* Works closely with providers to assure efficient and effective execution of defined processes and goods transportation

* Coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of inventory finished goods and raw materials via truck, rail cars, and vessel. Provide reports to internal and external customers as required.

* Active understanding of Haz Mat, IATA., IMDG and DOT regulations

* Timely resolution of transportation issues and ensure long term corrective actions are in place.

* Initiates overcharge/undercharge freight bill claims with carriers and tracks reconciliation of the same per regulatory standards,

* Re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs

Import / Export:

* Provide Export/Import advice to both internal and external customers

* Ensure Compliance within government regulations

* Supports and actively complies with the security duties and responsibilities described in C-TPAT Security Program

* Provides and complete necessary regulatory information and forms for import/export shipments to the appropriate agencies

* Coordination with import/export compliance agencies

* Understanding of IATA regulations and export transportation

Communication / IT

* Utilize various transportation provider software systems, to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling.

o Order management systems

o Electronic Data Interface (inbound/outbound)

o 3rd Party Inventory Systems

* Communicates fulfillment status and / or issues within the Organization to points including Demand / Supply Planning, Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service

Team Development and Management:

* Trains, Develops, and motivates staff

* Participates in weekly staff meetings

* Organizes daily workflow and appropriate resource workload

* Outline department objectives for team members to ensure standards are met.

* Ensure all team members represent BPG in a professional, courteous and efficient manner to new and existing customer accounts

Experience and Skills:

Requirements

* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics Management

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Public Warehousing or 3PL storage management

* Degree or Certificate in Business Management, Operations, or Supply Chain or equivalent years of experience.

* Bachelors Preferred.

* Strong Written/Verbal Communication

* Analytic/strategic thinker

* Commitment to Task, and Analytical/Strategic

* Creative Problem solving.

* Must be self-starter and can work independently.

* Must have proven ability to work in a fast pace entrepreneurial team environment

* International and Export experience preferred

Special Skills/Certifications:

* MRP, inventory, and logistics functional expertise

* Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 with emphasis on excel pivot tables.

* APICS certification a plus.
