Application Specialist - (IT role) - Hybrid Schedule

Philadelphia, PA (Center City)

(Full Time, Permanent Opportunity)

The Application Specialist plays a primary role in selecting and recommending applications based on the organization’s needs. This role serves a bridge between the business and technical teams. The Application Specialist maintains the organizations applications and configures and tailors them to meet the specific needs of the organization or individual users. They provide specific IT support and advice for all the different applications and business systems. The Application Specialist must have strength in understanding business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and driving system changes.

 

As an Application Specialist, your day will include:

* Reviewing and evaluating requests for application changes.

* Planning system maintenance, updates, and upgrades.

* Maintaining test scripts documenting the expected end-user functionality results.

* Testing all system updates of new functionality before installation to ensure minimal production defects.

* Defining training required for end users.

* Providing end-user help and on-going training.

* Debugging system issues and working with the IT Team or vendor partners to resolve in a timely manner.

* Monitoring application performance reports to ensure systems are operating within the expected SLA.

* Creating System Operating Procedures documenting best practices.

Experience and Skills:

 

An ideal candidate has the following qualifications and skills:

* Five years or more of related work experience supporting business users and systems.

* Experience with SaaS applications such as CRMs, Telephony, Ticketing applications.

* Active knowledge of system administration functions.

* Collaborative team player who can also work individually to deliver high quality results on time.

* Critical thinker with strong analytical skills who quickly troubleshoot an issue and understand the root cause.

* Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical backgrounds.

* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

* Pro-active with a "Can-Do Attitude" and a strong customer focus.
