Warehouse/Material Handler

Job Description:

DFT Inc., a check valve manufacturer located in Exton, PA, has an open position for a warehouse/material handler.     

The position requires the warehouse/material handler to receive, store and transport equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, or tools to designated locations.

Duties include:

• Counts, sorts or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
• Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
• Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size or type of material.
• Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
• Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
• Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
• Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
• Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
• Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
• Maintains inventory and other stock records.
• Provides assistance and back-up to Shipping Clerk on an as needed basis by being cross trained on the use of UPS system, packaging/crating products for UPS/common carrier shipments.
• Works with all material handlers and Inventory Control supervisor for weekly Cycle Count of inventory.

Experience and Skills:

• Good verbal communication and organizational skills important along with strong attention to detail. 
• Long periods of time standing or walking. 
• May frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
