Job Description:

 

Summary Statement
The Material Handler’s primary functions are to perform all job functions pertaining to the shipments, receiving, storage, inventory maintenance, and return shipments of inventory, as well as providing any necessary support for the Department Supervisor

 

Essential Job Responsibilities
(As a minimum, these functions are required to complete the task assignments on a daily basis. Minor functions that can be performed by others or are only needed occasionally should not be listed.)

 

* Material receipts and issues
* Raw Material cycle counts
* Retrieve and process material for Production Department including material fulfillment for Kanban process
* Maintain inventory storage and locations with assistance from Department Supervisor
* Maintain communication with Purchasing Group for all PO receipt issues
* Complete all parts and order requests for individuals and departments
* Maintain material shortages including the shortage spreadsheet
* Prepare material for shipments to vendors
* Inventory accuracy / Cycle Counts
* Verify transactions
* Maintain a first-in, first-out inventory philosophy
* Follow all company guidelines and safety regulations.
* Maintain an orderly and efficient work area
* Maintain ESD compliance
* Operate any handling equipment to perform job functions such as transporting or hoisting material including, but not limited to, hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, and overhead crane
* Discuss potential areas for improvement with Supervisor
* Process and pack sales orders, repairs, return to vendor (RTV), and label shipments
* Manifest all shipments
* Process incoming customer repairs
* Process incoming customer credits
* Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies:

* Proficient in multiple competencies relevant to job
* 3 - 5 Years of general related experience or 2 years of experience with additional training and/or certification
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Proficient in all computer functions necessary to execute job requirements
* SAP experience preferred
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a semi-regular basis
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to accurately follow directions

Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Best practices and process advocate
* Ability to establish & maintain positive relationships with all disciplines
* Work well with teams or in a team environment, with the ability to work independently
* Strong ability to Multi-Task with an attention to detail
