We are seeking a HR Generalist for an independent, nonprofit
retail operation. This organization has been serving the community
for over 40 years.
The position entails a full time, onsite, HR generalist to
join the team. This position is ideal for someone who is looking
to establish and grow an HR Department in collaboration with
Senior Leadership. The ideal candidate will also have a strong

The focus of this position is working with and through others,
building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and
accurately within established guidelines. The Human Resource
generalist will need to be a strong communicator, but also be an
emphatic listener, to be able to help others with their needs in
the HR spectrum. Administering benefit questions, handling
claims, and execution of routine HR functions will accompany time
spent supporting the recruitment and retention of qualified staff.

Responsibilities will include:
Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the
organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as
it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention.
Provides support and guidance to management and staff when
questions and issues arise within the area of HR such as
Performance Management, Employee Relations, Benefits
Performs evaluations of annual benefit options, including health,
dental, and 401(k), among others that may be considered. Provides
options and recommendations to Senior Leadership on benefit packages.
Supports the talent acquisition process, including recruitment,
interviewing, background checks, and hiring; collaborating with
departmental managers to understand skills and competencies
required for openings.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment
laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews
policies and practices to maintain compliance.
