Job Title: Delivery Driver

Reports to Warehouse Supervisor

Summary: Transfer counter tops from area of production to businesses and personal homes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that may be assigned.

  • Drive safely to their destination and deliver items to different addresses and through different routes within deadlines.
  • Analyze delivery addresses and determine appropriate routes to most efficiently complete all stops.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle. Keep the vehicle clean on outside and inside.
  • Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms and complete daily paperwork.
  • Notify customer service if an issue should arise so that it can be resolved quickly. Help to provide exceptional service by passing on information regarding customer concerns, quality issues, potential delays in delivery timeframes.
  • Obtain signed packing slip from each customer and collect payments from COD customers.
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards. Adhere to company operating policies and procedures.

Skills/Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Excellent Organizational and Time Management Skills, Customer Service

Education/Experience:

High school diploma general education or equivalent. Valid professional driver’s license. Good driving record with no traffic violations.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to follow directions.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment:

The position requires attention to the changing traffic patterns and road hazards. It requires defensive driving. Delivery drivers are behind the wheel of a truck for long periods of time in all kinds of weather.
