The Human Resource Generalist will serve as a consultant to
management on human resource-related issues. The HRG will maintain an
effective level of business literacy about the company’s industry and
financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its
competition. The HRG will work closely with the senior management to
develop, implement and evaluate ongoing HR policies, programs,
functions and activities. Lastly, this person will also assist with
safety efforts and co-chair the safety committee.
Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the CFO to develop
solutions, programs and policies.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct
effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to
day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and
ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with other departments as needed/required.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line
management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development,
Work closely with management and employees to improve work
relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Develop employment terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures,
workforce planning and succession planning.
Identify training and coaching needs.
Plan, direct and supervise all activities relating to the
administration and maintenance of payroll and employee benefits programs.
Develop, implement and controls benefit programs in a manner that
ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness and internal
equity among employees.
Administer benefit programs, including conducting analysis and
serving as primary contract with providers (including group health
and life), workers' compensation, unemployment and the 401(k).
Manage the company's safety efforts, including serving as
co-chair of the safety committee.
Assist the HR team in the daily administration of all HR services
as directed or assigned, including recruitment and selection,
promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration,
affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance
evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality
management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special
reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data,
including issues such as benefits costs, staffing
levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant
tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives
and/or operational goals. Interpret appropriate laws and policies
and advises management and employees.
