Job Title: Engineering Technician, I - This is a

Summary Statement: The level I Engineering Technician, under
the supervision and direction of the Hardware Design Services
Supervisor, performs a wide variety of technical support tasks
involving circuit design, prototype build, design validation,
design qualification, and manufacturing test for the Engineering
The level I Engineering Technician will use a variety of T&M
Equipment and software applications to complete these support tasks.
The level I Engineering Technician will adhere to all
Documentation Control related practices, work procedures and
policies as defined by Documentation Control Specialist and
Essential Responsibilities include but not limited to:
o Electronic circuit prototype component
procurement, assembly & functional verification.
o Board assembly programming, circuit testing,
and modification implementation.
o Assistance with execution of in-house or
out-house product design Qualification testing: EMI/EMC, Safety,
Drop, Shock, Water Ingress, etc.
o Build and functional verification/validation
of board and product subassembly test fixtures.
o Creation & Validation of Manufacturing
and/or Service Center method sheet documentation.
o Manufacturing production support: test
fixture or product failure circuit troubleshooting.
o Service Center support: test fixture or
product failure/repair circuit troubleshooting & analysis.
Participation in accuracy validation of product structure BOMs
& assembly documentation during, prototype subassembly and
product assembly builds.
Create & Submit Engineering Changes (ECNs) as directed by
the Hardware Design Services Leader and/or Project Leaders.
Participation in coordination and execution of Product
Development Stage Gate process.
Follow Documentation Control policies and practices.
Participate in project team meetings to understand and discuss
project execution work assignments.
Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep
equipment, tools and work area clean and orderly.
Handle materials in accordance with established procedures.
Work in a timely manner to ensure customer needs are
fulfilled, deadlines are met, and meet expected productivity goals.
Works under regular direct supervision
