Job Description:

Under direct supervision from the Controller, this position has responsibility for providing assistance with coordination and execution of: financial reporting and analysis, monthly financial closings and statement preparation, cost accounting and variance analysis, inventory reporting and control, cost center review and analysis and maintaining internal controls by preparing and recommending accounting policies and procedures in a Manufacturing Environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
-Participates in monthly closes and financial statement preparation and analysis for the Site profit centers.
-Assist Site Controller in the preparation of multiple profit center annual financial plans including updating product costs in SAP and preparing cost center budgets.
-Prepares financial analysis reports for all US Operations by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
-Analyze actual labor, material and overhead cost against standard. Research and explain variances and report to upper management.
-Prepare analysis of fixed spending by department showing Actual vs Budget and identifying and explaining variances.
-Support Site Controller’s efforts in implementing and maintaining internal controls at the plant for manufacturing operations, sales and finance.
-Perform financial  analysis  on  Megger US operation’s  finished  product  line  costs  incorporating  raw  material  and conversion costs.
-Aide in development and review of yearly Material Standard Cost Revaluation including new labor and overhead rates, budget and forecasts.
-Assist with monthly review of all account variances including Purchase Price & Production Variances
-Develop initiatives to reduce slow moving Inventory and to improve inventory returns.
-Generate and maintain monthly reports on inventory levels and cycle count accuracy.
-Review and approve all Departmental Invoices into their proper GL account and cost centers.
-Monitor capital and fixed asset spending and maintain all proper documentation in accordance to company policies & procedures.
-Position involves extensive use of SAP mainframe system for both operations and finance.
-Other Duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

•         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 to 3 years accounting experience, advanced degree seen as a differential.
•         Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases, especially Excel.
•         Experience with SAP a plus
•         Excellent organizational, problem solving, project management and communication skills.
•         Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, inventory control, cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis
•         Working knowledge of US GAAP a plus. 
•         Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•         Solid analytical and critical thinking abilities
