We are growing and have an exciting 'new' opportunity available for
a Manufacturing Manager.
This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Director of
Corporate Operations.
We are seeking someone who has a Mechanical Engineering background,
who is "hands-on" and enjoys being in a "liaison and
Lead role".
This is an ideal role for an experienced Mechanical Engineer from
the Manufacturing sector, seeking the "next" step into
Team and Plant Management, while still being "hands-on",
using your technical skills and knowledge and being involved in the
daily business of a smaller company who is growing.
We ask that you are experienced with CAD, as most of the drawings
we use from our customers are uploaded in that fashion.
We ask that you are either a BSME or BSIT and can read drawings,
work with Dies and qualifying 1st Articles and are successful with
meeting deadlines.
We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient and exercises
good judgement. Someone who is a Team Player and very approachable
to everyone involved with our Manufacturing facility.

We cater to a very large customer base consisting of many types of
industries and offer a wide selection of products from which to
select. We can also design customer-specific orders and participate
in Contract Manufacturing.
You will have a direct report and be the right hand to the
Operations Director. You will be relied upon to make decisions in
their absence and be in contact with all decision makers with any updates.
You will be involved in every aspect of the business, working
closely with the Sales Team and Customers, involved with the Pre and
Post Sales activities. Also, working with Fixtures, Dies, Qualifying
1st Articles.
Additionally, you will be involved in Design, Quality, Process and
Production, Tooling, QA/QC, Safety and ultimate shipping to the Customers.
You will also work with Vendors and Suppliers and in-house Staff
(Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Production Team, etc.).
You will be involved in Facility Maintenance, Plant Layout,
Machinery oversight.
You will have direct input into all processes and procedures and
other operations within the organization.
We are a successful, family-owned and managed OEM who have been in
business for many years. We have been successful in steadily
increasing our sales over the past four (4+) years.
We are a smaller organization (under 50 FTEs) and work one shift
per day. No weekends.
We have invested heavily in updating all our Manufacturing
Equipment (i.e., Roll Slitters, Films, Tapes, Precision Die Cutters,
CNC’s, Laminators, etc.).
We are one of several company locations in the U.S. We operate
within ISO:9001 standards.
Job Performance Objectives:
You will have the chance to work with the operations team to
develop and drive short- and long-term engineering strategies to
meet business objectives and ensure technical issues are understood,
analyzed, and effectively addressed.
Ensure all equipment is well maintained and operational. Manage
tooling and line layout for current and new products.
Establish routings for efficient manufacturing and implement
continuous improvement projects to reduce materials and labor hours.

* Responsible for overall engineering program at our Naperville, IL location.
* Responsible for aspects of machine and building maintenance at
the Naperville facility, and other sites as needed.
* Responsible for project development and execution. Especially
related to new products, continuous improvement, and cost savings.
* Accountable for tracking and monitoring production productivity
and profitability related to machine output, downtime, and scrap.
* Works closely with manufacturing to establish production methods,
rates, and staffing.
* Responsible for facility layout and process flow optimization in
Naperville facility, and other sites as needed.
* Responsible for establishing preventive maintenance program for
all equipment and ensuring repair part inventory is managed.
* Supports Manufacturing and Sales on technical issues.
* Responsible for commercialization of new products and product changes.
* Responsible for first article and PPAP submissions.
* Key member of the operation’s continuous improvement team,
responsible for identification, development, and execution of cost
reduction projects throughout the organization.
* Provides technical support to procurement and sales for sourcing
and quoting decisions.
* Responsible for ISO related activities related to Engineering,
Facility, and production related quality control.
* Ability to prioritize assignments and complete them on time.
* Ability to communicate assignments effectively- written and verbal
* Ability to make decisions within scope of responsibility.
* Ability to effectively manage projects.
* Able to interact well with all levels of colleagues and customers.
* Able to form and manage budgets, including expense controls.
* Ability to achieve goals and drive results.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages a Maintenance Technician
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is
frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is
occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is
regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or
feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is
frequently required to stand and maintain a high level of
physicality for prolonged periods.
The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, taste or
smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
Hours of Operation for our Plant and Manager:
Our Plant Hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (no Weekends)
Full-time, exempt, standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Potential travel to other company locations in the U.S.
