Job Description:

Supply Chain Manager

Our client, a manufacturer based in Skippack, PA area, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their team! This is a great opportunity for an experienced supply chain manager who is looking to add value to a growing organization and make an immediate impact.

Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for providing leadership for all purchasing, warehousing and inventory activities with an effort to improve costs while also improving efficiency and accuracy in the management of inventory. Our client is seeking a value-driven, results focused leader capable of successfully managing and working with employees. The successful candidate will support and foster a culture that embraces change and focuses on continuous operational improvements that further enhance customer experience with our client’s products and services.

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring daily onsite work. No ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

Purchasing

  • Developing strategies and driving negotiations to drive cost reductions while meeting the quality, fulfillment, and productivity requirements of the business.
  • Reviews proposals and supplier contracts, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records.
  • Identify ways to improve purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Directly manage all offshore purchasing to maintain cost-effective, consistent flow of material to meet production demands
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships and pricing
  • Create supplier scorecard and manage supplier performance; Monitor and report on supplier performance and implement corrective action when required.

Sourcing

  • Compiles and analyzes data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish cost reduction initiatives.
  • Driving the sourcing strategy that delivers a competitive advantage including implementation of the strategic supplier initiatives.
  • Work with the new product development team to identify new materials and vendors for new products as well as cost reduction initiatives.

Inventory

  • Organize and improve raw material storage with min/max levels and clear identification.
  • Manage material inventory ensuring counts and levels are accurate.
  • Oversee receiving and ensure accuracy.
  • Provide required information to ensure accuracy of ERP Data (costing, routing, etc.)

Experience and Skills:

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement and materials management in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in one or more of the following disciplines: Management (Supply Chain, Operations), Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial), or Business. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated Supply Chain experience in purchasing raw metals and with offshore purchasing, particularly with Asian markets.
  • ERP/MRP Systems experience is a plus.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus.
  • Proven cost reduction and contract negotiation results.
  • Strong leadership and management skills. Ability to communicate and provide constructive feedback in a positive nature at all levels of the organization. Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and delegate by providing employees with clear direction.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including presentation skills.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient computer skills - particularly Microsoft Office applications.
