RN Supervisor - Elm Terrace Gardens

Three (3) Nights and "No" Weekends

7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Full Time, Permanent Opportunity

Lansdale PA  

 

We are growing and seeking an RN Supervisor to join our team for a full-time opportunity working three (3) evenings a week and "no" weekends.

 

Elm Terrace Gardens is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in the heart of Lansdale PA.


12 Hour Shifts each weeknight:  7:00pm-7:00am

 

RN Supervisor  Purpose:  

To provide professional direct resident nursing care and, in conjunction with the charge nurse, to supervise daily nursing activities performed by Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants.

To promote and maintain a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility.

To perform these duties in accordance with applicable current federal, state, and local regulations and standards, and as may be directed by the Charge Nurse; and to perform these duties in accordance with the mission of Elm Terrace Gardens to promote the health and well-being of individual residents based on their functional abilities and potential.

 

Schedule is 7p-7a - 3 nights a week - Full-time!  Schedule offers great work life balance.

Nursing Care Functions - Duties

1 Render and administer professional nursing services, including prescribed treatments and medications, in accordance with physician's orders and the physician-approved individual resident care plans.

2 Provide direct nursing care as necessary to assigned residents.

3 Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.

4 As requested, ensure that rooms are properly prepared to receive new residents.

5 As requested, notify families or responsible parties about resident expirations or transfers to acute care facilities.

6 Make rounds with residents' physicians as necessary and ensure their completion of record keeping.

7 Consult with physicians in providing care, treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.

8 Accurately complete, maintain, and verify as necessary drug inventories, medical forms, physician and consultant orders, reports, evaluations, and resident chart entries according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

9 Know and comply with facility infection control policies and procedures, including the blood-borne pathogen standard, infectious waste disposal, and such other standards as may be promulgated from time to time.

10 Ensure cleanliness and safety of all nursing service and treatment areas.

11 As assigned by the Charge Nurse, supervise, direct, and instruct Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants in the performance of their assigned duties, ensuring the maintenance of the highest degree of quality care at all times and the adherence to facility policies and procedures on resident care.

12 Exercise professional judgment and make independent decisions to ensure the proper delivery of nursing services to residents in accordance with standard nursing practices and facility policies and procedures.

13 Follow established safety rules and regulations at all times, including fire safety procedures and disaster control.

14 Promptly report accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous equipment or conditions.

15 Assume the duties of Charge Nurse on an acting basis of Infection Control Coordinator as directed by the Director of Nursing.

16 Maintain professional license to practice nursing.

17 Present positive endorsement of Elm Terrace Gardens, its mission, programs, policies, procedures, and administration to Elm Terrace Gardens residents, staff, visitors, and other constituencies at all times.

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

1 Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and be currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Department of State; or

2 Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing currently licensed to practice in another state with a temporary permit to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and must obtain Commonwealth registration within twelve (12) months of employment; or

3 Must be able to fill in on the medication cart until a replacement can be found.

4 Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities; and

5 Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and completed high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school education; and

6 Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions; and

7 Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.

8 Must be punctual!
